In the second half, Pythons went 5 - 3 up but again Vipers hit back before Pythons settled the matter, winning 6 - 4. Kent League: Under 15's, Division 1 and Division 2

Unbeaten Herne Bay United Cobras overwhelmed their clubmates, the Pythons, in a Kent League under 15s clash at Herne Bay Pier Pavilion on Saturday. The more experienced Cobras were too powerful and won 9 - 0 with goals from Joel Hudson (3), Matthew Barton (2), Philip McVey (2) and Steven Malley (2).

There was an exciting Divison 2 clash between Herne Bay United Base and Herne Bay. United raced into a 3 - 0 lead but Herne Bay battled back and scored twice before half time. Base won 7 - 4 and their scorers were Ryan Hudson (3), Clive Bassom (2), Terry Pearman and Julian Day. Mark Liddle (2), Gary Keene and Julian Day replied for Herne Bay.

There were no upsets in the Kent League Division 1 clash between Inbath Herne Bay and Apex Herne Bay United. Herne Bay were favourites, but won only by the odd goal in three after a hard battle. A 10-minute goal from Nick Barton put United in front, but Mick Harris pulled one back for Herne Bay before half time. In the second half, the experienced Harris scored the winner for Herne Bay with nothing to spare.

Kent League: Under 15's and Division 2

Herne Bay United Pythons dominated Herne Smugglers in an under 15's Kent League clash at the Pier Pavilion on Saturday evening. Pythons' goals all came from Chris Gisby and Ian Dyball.

Herne Bay United Reserves fought back strongly in the Divison 2 game against Queen's Head Herne Trojans. Trojans went ahead through Scott Parker in the first five minutes, and Darryl Bagnall got another to make it 2 - 0 at half time. Kurt Holmes flicked in a third soon after the restart and it appeared the reserves were finished. But Paul McVey, Jon Barton and Matthew Barton levelled the scores with three minutes to go. Trojans rallied, however, and a superb flick-through fron Bagnall was hammered home by Andy Giles to make it 4-3 at the whistle.
